A 16-year-old girl in Malaysia has admitted to lying about being raped in a karaoke bar in Johor Bahru.
Girl claimed that man had raped her
China Press reported that the girl was at a karaoke bar when she met the man.
It was claimed that he had lured her into a karaoke bar to sing before bringing her into another private room to play a mobile game together.
The girl, who has a boyfriend, then alleged that the man had raped her.
The girl's boyfriend, reportedly called his friends to beat the man up, according to China Press.
The man was dragged out onto the streets and beaten. He was also forced to strip, and video clips of the incident were also shared all over social media.
In the video, the man was asked: "Did you force her?!" He was kicked when he responded "yes".
Later apologised and admitted to lying
A few days after the rape allegedly took place, the girl subsequently uploaded a 10-second video clip to Facebook admitting that she had lied about being raped.
She also apologised, saying:
"I'm here telling you I'm sorry. This incident, maybe I said it, maybe I didn't realise I said it, so I'm here to say I'm sorry to everyone."

China Press reported that netizens believe that the girl had consensual sexual relations with the man but claimed the man raped her after her boyfriend found out about the incident.
