Close to 1.5 million households entitled to free 500ml hand sanitisers

Interested households have to bring their own bottle(s) and this pamphlet to fill a total of 500ml hand sanitisers.
That means you can bring five smaller bottles and fill them up to 100ml each.
Bring your own bottle
It can be any reusable empty bottles such as shampoo or liquid soap bottles.
Most importantly, the bottles must be clean and dry so that the disinfectant will not be contaminated.

You should also remove any label on the bottle as a separate sticker will be provided to label your hand sanitiser.
This is to ensure the bottle of hand sanitiser is easily identifiable after collection.

Ensure all Singaporeans are well prepared for Covid-19
This initiative is also supported by various organisations including People’s Association, CapitaLand, SG Cares, Singapore Post, SP Group.
Temasek Foundation's chairman, Richard Magnus, thanked all supporting organisations and volunteers that have "generously lent their support to this logistical undertaking".
This hand sanitiser distribution is part of a Stay Prepared initiative to support people in Singapore during the Covid-19 outbreak and encourage people to keep up their personal hygiene.
While washing hands with soap is still the best prevention against the spread of Covid-19, hand sanitisers can be handy when one is on the move or cannot find a washing facility.
Calling this a "radical and comprehensive battle plan" against Covid-19, Richard added that Temasek Foundation will "leave no stone unturned and will continue to help build social resilience and instill public confidence during this uncertain period".
Previously, Temasek Foundation had delivered hand sanitisers to frontline workers and vulnerable groups such as the nursing homes as well.

Why zero alcohol hand sanitisers?
The zero alcohol disinfectant contains 0.054 per cent of benzalkonium chloride (BKC) which is one of the National Environment Agency (NEA) recommended non-alcohol disinfectants.
0.05 per cent BKC is sufficient to kill coronaviruses according to NEA's interim guideline.
The non-alcohol hand sanitisers are nonflammable and child-friendly as well.

The hotline is manned by Singapore Power, one of the supporting partners, from March 16 to April 5, 9am to 9pm.
