According to local media, a wealthy 27-year-old Vietnamese socialite, Nguyen Hong Nga, tested positive for Covid-19.

Both her and her sister tested positive for the virus

During Nga's trip to Europe, she attended fashion shows by Saint Laurent in Paris and Gucci in Milan.

Her 26-year-old sister, Nguyen Hong Nhung, accompanied her for the trip and tested positive for the coronavirus in Vietnam.

The wealthy Nga, is based between Vietnam and London, and is the daughter of a steel magnate.

French fashion show has a guest list of about 1,000 people

While Paris Fashion Week attracts thousands of visitors from across the world, the Saint Laurent fashion show would have had a guest list of 1,000.

According to SCMP, top fashion editors and department store buyers who attend fashion weeks and shows are in self-imposed quarantine after returning home to their home countries.

Companies have asked editors from United States, Singapore and Thailand not to return to office after visiting Milan, which is in northern Italy.

Italy had over 7,000 reported infections of Covid-19, as of Mar. 8, 2020.

On Sunday (Mar. 8), northern Italy was placed under lockdown to prevent the spread of the virus.

Fashion shows are often packed with guests sitting close together

According to SCMP, guests sat close to once another in a large venue at the Saint Laurent show in Paris.

While France placed a halt to gatherings of more than 5,000 people during Paris Fashion Week, this only affected a few shows and events.
