Costa Fortuna docked in Singapore on Tuesday (March 10) morning.
None of the passengers and crew were unwell
According to a joint release by Maritime Port Authority, Ministry of Health and the Singapore Tourism Board, they said that the cruise had submitted its Maritime Declaration of Health on Tuesday at 6am.
None of its passengers and crew on board reported a fever or exhibited other symptoms of respiratory illness, and the ship was allowed to berth at 8am as scheduled.
The penalty for false declaration includes up to six months’ imprisonment.
According to a media release by authorities on Monday (March 9), all passengers entering Singapore are also required to undergo temperature screening as a precautionary measure.
Passengers bussed to airport or hotels
Some passengers started disembarking around 9am, and over 600 passengers have disembarked as of 12pm.
Passengers with recent travel history to affected regions within the last 14 days have also completed an "enhanced one-on-one screening by doctors licensed by the MOH". They have been certified fit to travel.
The ship last departed Singapore on March 3, 2020.
These passengers, who had entered Singapore and boarded Costa Fortuna prior to the implementation of the travel ban and/or advisory on March 4, will stay on board the ship. They will be facilitated directly to the airport for their onward flights.
This morning, some passengers were bussed directly to the airport for their onward flights, or to their hotels.
Almost all foreign passengers will depart Singapore within the next two days, the press release added.
