Dairy Farm Singapore (DFSG) is introducing dedicated shopping hours across all Dairy Farm Food stores in Singapore starting this week.

The chain stores that will have this initiative are Cold Storage, Giant, Market Place and Jasons Deli.

Special shopping hour designated for vulnerable groups of people

According to a news release dated Mar. 24, the dedicated shopping hours will allow the elderly and other vulnerable groups to buy essential necessities with ease and safe distancing.

Vulnerable groups refer to seniors, pregnant women, mothers with children and persons with disabilities, according to in-store posters like these:

The dedicated shopping hour for the elderly and vulnerable groups runs during the first hour of operations (or 8am to 9am for 24-hour stores) every Tuesday and Wednesday.

There will also be special checkout lines for this group of shoppers during normal operating hours.

Respect the safe distancing measures

Safe distancing measures (in the form of floor markers) have also been implemented at the checkout lines at all food, health and beauty brands under DFSG such as Guardian and 7-Eleven.

The CEO of Southeast Asia Food, Dairy Farm Group, Chris Bush said that the Covid-19 outbreak is "unprecedented" and the well-being and safety of shoppers and staff remain the company's "top priority".

“We kindly request the support of all our customers’ by respecting these measures, as we are all dependent on the kindness, understanding and compassion of each other to help us through these challenging times,” Bush added.
