The Ministry of Health (MOH) confirmed 13 new cases of Covid-19 patients in Singapore on Friday (Mar. 6).
This brings the total numbers of cases to 130.
One more patient has been discharged bringing the total number of discharged patients to 82.
There are now currently nine patients in ICU.
Of the new cases nine are linked to the Jurong SAFRA cluster, two are imported, one is linked to a previous case and another one is unlinked.
Cases 119, 123, 124, and 126 are not related to the Jurong cluster.
Case 119 is employed at Singtel and lives in Stirling Road, but had not gone to work since onset of symptoms.
Case 118
Case 118 is a 33-year-old female Singapore citizen who has no recent travel history to affected countries and regions.
She is a family member of Case 114 and is linked to the cluster involving the private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong.
She is currently warded in an isolation room at NUH.
She reported onset of symptoms on Feb. 29 and had sought treatment at Pioneer Polyclinic on Mar. 2.
She presented at the emergency department of NUH on Mar. 4 and was confirmed to be infected with Covid-19 on the afternoon of Mar. 5.
Prior to her admission, she had mostly lived at home in the Westwood Avenue area.
Case 119
Case 119 is a 55-year-old male Singapore citizen who has no recent travel history to affected countries and regions.
He is currently warded in an isolation room at Alexandra Hospital.
He had reported onset of symptoms on Feb. 27 and sought treatment at a GP clinic, both on Feb. 27 and also on Feb. 29.
Subsequently, he presented at the Urgent Care Centre at Alexandra Hospital on Mar. 1 and Mar. 5.
He was confirmed to be infected with Covid-19 on the afternoon of Mar. 5.
Prior to his hospital admission, he had mostly lived at home at Stirling Road.
He is also an employee of Singtel, but has not gone to work since onset of symptoms.
Case 120
Case 120 is a 62-year-old female Singapore citizen who has no recent travel history to affected countries and regions.
She is linked to the cluster involving the private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong and had reported onset of symptoms on Mar. 2.
Subsequently, she sought treatment at a GP clinic on Mar. 3 and was referred by MOH to NCID on Mar. 5, where she is currently isolated.
She was confirmed to be infected with Covid-19 on the afternoon of the same day.
Prior to her admission, she had visited Boon Lay Shopping Centre (221 Boon Lay Place). She livess at Jurong West Street 65.
Case 121
Case 121 is a 54-year-old female Singapore citizen who has no recent travel to affected countries and regions.
She is linked to the cluster involving the private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong and had reported onset of symptoms on Feb. 26.
She then sought treatment at a GP clinic on Mar. 1. Subsequently, she was referred to NCID by MOH on Mar. 5, whereby she has been isolated since.
She tested positive for the infection in the afternoon.
Prior to her admission, she had mostly lived at her home along Corporation Drive.
Case 122
Case 122 is a 64-year-old female Singapore citizen who has no recent travel to affected countries and regions.
She is linked to cluster involving the private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong and had reported onset of symptoms on Mar. 3.
She then sought treatment at GP clinic two days later on Mar. 5 where she was referred to NCID on the same day and immediately isolated.
She tested positive for Covid-19 that afternoon.
Prior to admission she had visited Westgate and Keat Hong Community Club. Her residence is at Petir Road.
Case 123
Case 123 is likely to be an imported case involving a 47-year-old male Singapore citizen who had been to South Africa from Feb. 14 to Feb. 17, and France from Feb. 22 to Feb. 24.
He is a crew member of Singapore Airlines and reported the onset of symptoms on Feb. 27.
He had also sought treatment at a GP clinic on the same day, as well as on Mar. 2 and Mar. 4.
He presented at Sengkang General Hospital on Mar. 4 and was subsequently confirmed to be infected with Covid-19 on the afternoon of Mar. 5.
Prior to his hospital admission, he had mostly lived at home at Fernvale Close and has not gone to work since the onset of symptoms.
Case 124
Case 124 is likely to be an imported case involving a 37-year-old female Singapore permanent resident who had been in Germany from Feb. 27 to Mar. 5.
She was confirmed to have the infection on the morning of Mar. 6 and is currently in isolation at NCID.
Case 125
Case 125 is a 65-year-old female Singapore citizen who has no recent travel to affected countries and regions.
She is a family member of Case 128 and is linked to the cluster involving the private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong.
She was confirmed to have Covid-19 on the morning of Mar. 6 and is currently warded in isolation at NCID.
Case 126
Case 126 is a 77-year-old male Singapore citizen who has no recent travel history to affected countries and regions.
He was in the same ward as Case 109 in SGH from Feb. 29 to Mar. 1, before Case 109 was confirmed to have been infected with Covid-19.
As such, Case 126 has been quarantined since March 4, and was confirmed to be infected with Covid-19 on the afternoon of Mar. 5. He is currently warded at NCID.
As part of enhanced safety precautions, patients who have acute respiratory infection will be placed in wards with greater separation between patients to minimise the risk of infection.
Case 127
Case 127 is a 64-year-old female Singapore citizen who has no recent travel to affected countries and regions.
She is a close contact of Case 117 and is linked to the cluster involving a private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong.
She was confirmed to be infected with Covid-19 on the afternoon of Mar. 5 and is currently warded in an isolation room at NCID.
Case 128
Case 128 is a 70-year-old male Singapore citizen who has no recent travel history to affected countries and regions.
He is a family member of Case 125, and is linked to the cluster involving a private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong.
He was confirmed to be infected with Covid-19 on the morning of Mar. 6 and is currently warded in an isolation room at NCID.
Case 129
Case 129 is a 68-year-old female Singapore citizen who has no recent travel to affected countries and regions.
She is a family member of case 130 and is linked to the cluster involving a private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong.
Her infected status was confirmed on the morning of Mar. 6 and she is currently warded at an isolation room at Ng Teng Fong Hospital.
Case 130
Case 130 is a 66-year-old male Singapore citizen who has no recent travel history to affected countries and regions.
He is linked to the cluster involving the private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong.
He was confirmed to be infected with Covid-19 on the morning of Mar. 6 and is currently warded in an isolation room at Ng Teng Fong Hospital.
Previous cases
On Thursday, (March 5), the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced that there was a cluster of eight people with confirmed cases of Covid-19 linked to a private dinner function held at Joy Garden Restaurant on Feb. 15.
The restaurant, Joy Garden Restaurant, is located at SAFRA Jurong.
SAFRA Jurong said it assisted MOH in providing the necessary details on the attendees of the event for contact tracing.
According to SAFRA’s statement, Joy Garden Restaurant had closed for cleaning from Feb. 16 to Feb. 19 following the dinner function as a “hygiene practice”.
It also stated that as a precautionary measure, the restaurant, along with “all other possible areas which might have been visited by the affected individuals”, was thoroughly cleaned and disinfected again on March 5.
SAFRA said that it will continue to monitor the situation closely and take further appropriate actions, where necessary.
Here are some updates on cases announced yesterday.
Case 116 (announced on Mar. 5)
Case 116 is a 50-year-old female Singapore citizen with no recent travel history to countries or regions affected by the outbreak.
She is currently warded at NCID and is linked to the cluster involving the private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong.
She reported onset of symptoms on Feb. 29 and sought treatment at a GP clinic on Mar. 1 and Mar. 3.
She was subsequently referred by MOH to NCID on the morning of Mar. 5, whereupon she was confirmed to have been infected by Covid-19.
With regard to her movement, she mostly lived at her home in Jurong West Street 81.
Case 117 (announced Mar. 5)
Case 117 is a 52-year-old female Singapore citizen with no recent travel history to countries or regions affected by the outbreak.
However, she visited Malaysia on Mar. 1 while within Singapore, she visited shops located at 131 Marsiling Rise and 731 Yishun Street 72. She also attended exercises classes at Petir Park (141 Petir Road) and Zhenghua Nature Park (466 Segar Road).
She is currently warded at NCID and is linked to the cluster involving the private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong.
She reported onset of symptoms on Mar. 2 and was referred by MOH to NCID on the morning of Mar. 5, whereupon she was confirmed to have been infected by Covid-19.
She lives at Senja Road.
Updates on confirmed cases
Thus far, a total of 82 cases have fully recovered and have been discharged.
Of the 48 confirmed cases who are still in hospital, most are either stable or improving, while nine are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
Contact tracing updates
As of Mar. 6, 12pm, MOH has identified 3,366 close contacts who have been quarantined. Of these, 389 are currently under quarantine while 2,977 have completed their quarantine.
Links to previous cases
- Cases 8 and 9 as well as six of the locally transmitted cases (Cases 31, 33, 38, 83, 90 and 91) are linked to The Life Church and Missions Singapore.
- The six cases are linked to another 23 confirmed cases linked the Grace Assembly of God cluster (Cases 48, 49, 51, 53, 54, 57, 58, 60, 61, 62, 63, 66, 67, 68, 70, 71, 73, 74, 78, 80, 81, 84 and 88).
- Nine of the confirmed cases (Cases 19, 20, 21, 24, 25, 27, 28, 34 and 40) are linked to Yong Thai Hang.

- 13 of the confirmed cases (94, 96, 107, 112, 114, 115, 116, 117, 118, 120, 121, 122, 125, 127, 128, 129 and 130) are linked to a private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong on Feb. 15.
Investigations on all the above clusters are ongoing.
In addition, links have been identified between the following cases:
- Case 44 is linked to Cases 13 and 26,
- Case 72 is linked to Cases 59 and 79,
- Case 50 is linked to Cases 55, 65, and 77,
- Case 75 is linked to Case 41,
- Case 86 is linked to Case 82, and
- Case 126 is linked to Case 109
According to MOH, contact tracing is underway for the other 12 locally transmitted cases.
This is done to establish any links to previous cases or travel history to affected countries or regions.
