The Asian Civilisation Museum (ACM) has been closed for disinfection from Mar. 19 to 20, after a staff was diagnosed with Covid-19.
In a press statement dated Mar. 19, the museum said that the staff travelled to the United States from Mar. 9 to 14.
It is unclear if the staff is part of the 47 new Covid-19 cases announced yesterday (Mar. 18).
The museum added that the staff had not been in the ACM premises nor come into contact with other staff since Mar. 7.
"Nonetheless, the National Heritage Board (NHB) and ACM will be closing the museum on Mar. 19 and 20 for thorough cleaning and disinfection," said the museum.
NHB had stepped up its cleaning regime at its museums in institutions since February 2020.
Staff are also required to take their temperature twice daily and stay home if they do not feel well.
"NHB and its museums and institutions will continue to closely monitor the situation to ensure that the well-being of our staff, visitors and partners is safeguarded," said ACM.
