Four cases of Covid-19 patients were discharged in Singapore on Mar. 22, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced.
Among them was Case 311.
Discharged in four days
Case 311 is an 80-year-old female Singapore citizen with no recent travel history.
She confirmed to be infected with Covid-19 on Mar. 18, and was isolated at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID).
She is linked to two other confirmed cases — Case 234 is her family member, who is in turn the family member of Case 335.
Just four days after being tested positive for the virus, the patient has been discharged.
Surge in imported cases
The past week has seen a surge in imported cases, with their numbers accounting for majority of the new cases in Singapore.
In a doorstop on Mar. 22, Co-chair of the Multi Ministry Taskforce Lawrence Wong said that Singapore is currently experiencing a second wave of imported cases.
To reduce the spread of Covid-19 in Singapore, all short-term visitors from anywhere in the world will be barred from entering or transiting through Singapore from Mar. 23, 2020, 11:59 pm.
The Ministry of Manpower will also be limiting the entry or return of work pass holders, with only those providing essential services like healthcare and transport allowed entry or return.
Singapore citizens, Permanent Residents and Long Term Pass holders can still return to Singapore and will be issued a 14-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN).
As of Mar. 22, Singapore has 455 confirmed cases.
