Update: MOH has clarified that one of the confirmed cases is a SAF regular, not an RSAF regular, he however does work at Tengah Air Base.

Three new cases of the novel coronavirus have been confirmed in Singapore, all with no recent travel history to China, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced on Sunday (Feb 16).

This takes the total number of cases in Singapore to 75.

Of these, five are in critical condition in intensive care, said the ministry.

Prior to hospital admission, one of the cases had attended church service at Grace Assembly of God (Tanglin) (355 Tanglin Road). He is a regular serviceman in The Singapore Air Force (SAF) but had not gone to work since onset of symptoms. He stays at Lorong 8 Toa Payoh.

SAF Regular Serviceman tested positive

A Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Regular Serviceman who worked at Building 613 of Tengah Air Base has tested positive for the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) on 15 February 2020.

He has been identified by the Ministry of Health as Case 73. The serviceman is currently warded at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases.

The SAF has been in contact with the serviceman to render support and assistance.

The serviceman last visited his place of work on 6 February.

Nevertheless, as a precautionary measure, the SAF has carried out immediate and thorough disinfection of the premises the serviceman had been in.

All servicemen have been reminded to continue with ongoing personal health and hygiene measures such as regular hand-washing with soap, twice-daily temperature taking, monitoring of their health, and consultation with a doctor if they feel unwell.
