The novel coronavirus outbreak that started in Wuhan has been declared a global health emergency, having resulted in nearly 500 deaths and more than 20,000 infected.

While it has brought out the best and worst of humanity, some are coming up with creative ways to contribute to the fight against the viral outbreak.

Game developer encouraging people to stay at home by giving away free adult games

With the outbreak of disease spreading rapidly, the Chinese government has recommended people, especially in Wuhan, to stay at home to avoid coming into contact with others harbouring the virus.

Chinese video game developer Kagami Works is offering to give away 200,000 copies of their video game to encourage people to stay indoors, by providing them a form of entertainment.

The catch? You can only play it if you're 18 and above (technically).

The game, Mirror, which happens to be an anime-style adult game with rather scantily-clad girls, is possibly the gaming industry's first major contribution to the fight against the coronavirus outbreak.

Besides encouraging people to stay indoors, Kagami Works has also done its part in getting people to wash their hands.

The giveaway ends on Feb. 10, 2020, at 9am.

The free copies are only available to those with phone numbers from China, but can be bought for S$0.86 on Steam until Feb. 11, 2020.

Overwhelmingly positive reviews on the game

The game by Kagami Works is a story-based dating simulator with mechanics similar to Candy Crush.

It includes puzzles and stages which will help to boost the player's romantic progress with female characters in the game.

The story description includes:
