52 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in South Korea today.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases in South Korea to 156.

According to Yonhap News, the majority of the cases, 41, were in Daegu. Three were in Seoul.

Other areas where there have been confirmed cases are in central ChungCheong Province and Jeju Island.

Daegu and neighbouring Cheongdo have been designated as "special management zones".

The number of cases has risen dramatically over the past few days. Just three days ago on Feb. 18, there were just 31 confirmed cases.
