21 out of 50 coronavirus patients in S'pore linked to these 5 clusters

Close to half of the cases in Singapore came from these clusters.

As of Feb. 12, Singapore has reported 50 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

Out of these 50, 15 have recovered and have been discharged. Of the remaining 35, eight are currently warded in the intensive care unit.

21 out of these 50 confirmed cases came from five identified clusters.

Investigations into these clusters are ongoing and contact tracing is underway.

Here are the five clusters identified by the Ministry of Health with the help of the Singapore Police Force so far.:

1. The Life Church and Missions Singapore

Five cases are linked to The Life Church and Missions Singapore located at 146B Paya Lebar Road.

They are cases 8, 9, 31, 33 and 38.

Patients 8 and 9 are a 56-year-old female and 56-year-old male respectively. They are a married couple from Wuhan and prior to hospitalisation, they stayed with their family at their home at Lorong Lew Lian.

Patients 31, 33, and 38 are attendees of The Life Church.

Patient 31 is a 53-year-old male Singapore Citizen with no recent travel history to China, but had been in Malaysia on Jan. 6, 11 and 17. 

Patient 33 is a 39-year-old female Singapore Citizen with no recent travel history to China, but had been in Malaysia from Jan. 22 to 29.

Patient 38 is a 52-year-old female Singapore Citizen with no recent travel history to China. 

2. Yong Thai Hang

Nine confirmed cases are linked to a cluster associated with Yong Thai Hang at 24 Cavan Road.

They are cases 19, 20, 21, 24, 25, 27, 28, 34 and 40.

Patients 19, 20, 34, 40 work at the complementary health medical shop, Yong Thai Hang.

Patient 21 is the domestic helper of Patient 19, she's an Indonesian national.

Patient 27 is the husband of patient 19 and patient 28 is their six-month-old son who's recovering well, according to MOH. 

Patient 24 is a tour guide who had brought a group of Guangxi tourists to Yong Thai Hang. Patient 25 is her husband.

Patients 25, 34, and 40 were discharged on Feb. 12.

3. Grand Hyatt S'pore

Three confirmed cases are linked to a private business meeting held at Grand Hyatt Singapore from Jan. 20 to Jan. 22.

They are cases 30, 36 and 39.

This business meeting is also linked to a few reported cases in South Korea, Britain, and Malaysia.

4. Seletar Aerospace Heights construction site

Two confirmed cases are linked to the Seletar Aerospace Heights construction site.

They are cases 42 and 47 and both are Bangladeshi nationals.

Patient 42 stayed at The Leo dormitory near Ubi and patient 47 stayed at his rental apartment at Veerasamy Road prior to his hospital admission.

5. Grace Assembly of God (Tanglin & Bukit Batok)

Two recently-confirmed cases are linked to the Grace Assembly of God Church at Tanglin and Bukit Batok.

Patient 48 is a 34-year-old male Singaporean who stays at Bukit Batok St 25.

Patient 49 is 46-year-old male Singaporean who stays at Toh Guan Road.

Both of them work at the church.
