In an update on Feb. 8, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced another seven confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Singapore, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 40.
Of these seven cases, five of them are linked to previously announced ones.
- Two cases linked to Yong Thai Hang traditional Chinese medicine store that the Chinese tour group visited.
- Two cases linked to the business meeting at Grand Hyatt Singapore from Jan. 20 to Jan. 22
- One case linked to the existing patients who are churchgoers of The Life Church and Missions Singapore.
- Two not linked to any identified clusters.
Among the two new cases are also a taxi driver and a private hire car driver.
Another two in ICU
The news release also wrote that there are currently four patients in critical condition and they are warded in the intensive care unit.
One requires additional oxygen support.
The remaining infected patients are in stable conditions or improving.
Previously, it was reported that there were two patients in intensive care units with additional oxygen support.
Two out of the 40 confirmed cases have been discharged.
