Several patients also require help with breathing.

In the latest update from the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Feb. 7, three new confirmed cases were announced. There are now 33 confirmed cases of coronavirus so far in Singapore.

Among the 33 confirmed cases:

  • 17 were imported cases
  • Four cases were Singaporeans evacuated from Wuhan
  • Seven cases are linked to clusters of groups from mainland China
  • One case linked to the business meeting at the Grand Hyatt hotel
  • The link of four cases has yet been identified
  • Two have been discharged

On Feb. 7, MOH announced that another patient is clear from the coronavirus and has been discharged. However, two existing patients are currently warded in the intensive care unit.

Update on case 30

As for Case 30, a 27-year-old male Singapore citizen, MOH added that he had attended a private business meeting at Grand Hyatt Singapore from Jan. 20 to 22, and reported an onset of fever on Jan. 21.

The man then visited a GP clinic on Jan. 28 and sought treatment at a second GP clinic on Feb. 3, before being admitted to the National Centre for Infectious Diseases on Feb. 6.

He eventually tested positive for the coronavirus at 2pm on the day of his admission.

MOH further noted that prior to his admission into hospital, he had also been to Far East Square along China Street and Junction 8 in Bishan, and that he stayed at Shunfu Road.

2 discharged cases

MOH also reported that another patient is clear of coronavirus and discharged.

The patient was identified as the second confirmed case in Singapore.

The second case was announced on Jan. 23 as tested preliminarily positive, pending a confirmation test.

She was eventually tested positive for the coronavirus on Jan. 24.

She is a 53-year-old female Chinese national from Wuhan who arrived in Singapore with her family on Jan. 21 and was warded at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID).

That brings the total number of discharge cases to two in Singapore.

A 35-year-old man from Wuhan was discharged on Feb. 4, 2020.

2 infected patients in intensive care unit

Two out of the 31 existing patients are in critical condition and warded at the intensive care unit with breathing support.

It was revealed at the press conference that both patients require help breathing because of lung infection from pneumonia.

Several patients also require help with breathing.
