Deep-fry-everything store Old Chang Kee has started a sweet initiative for the doctors and nurses Singapore: Free curry puffs.
According to their Facebook post, this is to thank the medical staff for saving their "loved ones" during this "essential moment".
Although Old Chang Kee did not elaborate on what they meant by that, we are going to take "essential moment" to mean the novel coronavirus (nCoV) situation in Singapore.Singapore has 30 confirmed cases as of Feb. 6, 2020.
Doctors and nurses will be able to redeem a curry puff till 5pm daily, when they show their hospital staff pass at selected Old Chang Kee outlets.
They can choose to have Curry'O, Chicken Mushroom' O or Sardine' O.
The deal is only available for a limited time, although the period was not specified.
The selected Old Chang Kee outlets are:
- Rex
- Changi Airport T3
- Northpoint City
- Novena Square (first floor only)
- JEM
- IMM
- Simei MRT
- Waterway Point
- Compass One
And those who are eligible are medical staff from:
- Ng Teck Fong General Hospital
- Khoo Teck Puat Hospital
- Tan Tock Seng Hospital
- SingHealth Group
- Ren Ci Community Hospital
- Yishun Community Hospital
- Jurong Community Hospital
