The spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) has seen international brands and companies react to the crisis in different ways.

Mask-themed plushie keychains

Recently, Sanrio Japan has decided to roll out a series of mask-themed plushie keychains.

The collection features five popular Sanrio characters - Hello Kitty, My Melody, Cinnamoroll, Pom Pom Purin and Pochacco.

Each polyester plushie wears a miniature face mask that can be shifted down, which serves as a timely reminder that even your favourite cartoon characters are doing their part to keep themselves and others free from illness.

Here they are:

Currently, the keychains retail for 1,760 yen (S$22) each and can only be bought online or in Japan.

According to a review on Sanrio's website, the size of each plushie is slightly bigger than one's palm.

While the Hello Kitty and My Melody keychains are now sold out on Sanrio's main website, one can still find them on ebay, albeit at a much higher price.
