Timeline of whereabouts from Feb. 1 to Feb. 9, 2020

Malaysia's Ministry of Health director-general Noor Hisham Abdullah stated that the 18th patient had travelled to mainland China before he returned to Malaysia on Feb. 1.

On Feb. 3, he began to feel unwell and sought treatment at a clinic on Feb. 4 and Feb. 6, during which he was given medication.

As the man still felt sick on Feb. 7, he visited a clinic before he was subsequently referred to Banting Hospital in Selangor to be tested and treated.

The man was isolated and later diagnosed with pneumonia.

Upon further checks, he was found to be suffering from severe acute respiratory infection and was closely monitored.

He was then transferred to Sungai Buloh Hospital where he tested positive for the nCoV on Feb. 9.

Contact tracing and other preventive measures activated

According to Noor Hisham, Selangor Health Department and the Kuala Langat Health office have been informed to take further action via contact tracing in relation to this case, The Star reported.

He also added that the Ministry of Health "will update with the latest developments" and urged the residents in Banting to "keep calm".
