The Singapore Food Agency recently announced in one of their food hygiene notices that they were suspending an eatery at 50 Jurong Gateway Road, #04-15, Jurong East Mall, Singapore 608549 under the Points Demerit System.

The period of suspension was slated at two weeks from Feb. 25 to March 9.

A quick Google search shows that the place in question is a Jack's Place outlet at JEM.

So why exactly did this particular Jack's Place outlet do to get their license suspended?

According to the SFA notice, they failed to keep licensed premises "free of cockroach infestation" twice over the course of 12 months.

This resulted in the aforementioned two week suspension, and a fine of S$800.

Their food handlers are required to attend and pass the Basic Food Hygiene Course again, before they can resume work as food handlers.

SFA also stated that it took a serious view of these types of incidents.

Renovation

The outlet in question appears to be "closed for renovation" from Feb. 25 to March 9. Which are the exact days their license is suspended for.

Here's their Facebook post announcing the upcoming "sizzling new look" their newly renovated outlet will have.

Nearly half off their signature "Jack's Special Steak" as well to celebrate the newly renovated eatery.

When Mothership went down to check on the outlet, they appear to have plastered the outlet with a renovation notice and the same promise of sizzling new looks.
