A Malaysian man who stayed at Grand Hyatt Singapore from Jan. 16 to Jan. 23 tested positive for the coronavirus after he returned to Malaysia.

The hotel told Mothership that it was informed of the diagnosis by Singapore's Ministry of Health (MOH) on Feb. 4, but no other details about how or where the individual was infected has been released.

The hotel also said that no other confirmed or suspected cases were detected detected among the hotel's guests and staff.

"We are committed to caring for our guests and colleagues during this time, as their safety and wellbeing is a top priority," said Grand Hyatt Marketing Communications Manager Gerald Kheng.

Kheng added that the hotel took further measures immediately and have implemented operational protocols, including initiating deep cleaning measures in public areas, restaurants, meeting spaces, and guestrooms.

This to ensure their guests and staff remain in a healthy and safe environment.

"Hotel leadership and colleagues will continue to remain vigilant and support local authorities as they look further into the situation," Kheng added.
