Coronavirus: 7 confirmed cases, including Senior Pastor, linked to Grace Assembly of God church

It is now a new cluster.

As of Feb. 13, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed eight additional cases of the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Singapore, all of which are linked to previous cases.

This brings Singapore's total number of cases to 58.

Out of the 58, seven of the confirmed cases (Cases 48, 49, 51, 53, 54, 57 and 58) are linked to the Grace Assembly of God church.

The Senior Pastor of the church said in his latest message to his congregation that he tested positive for Covid-19 and been warded since Feb.11

Patients 48 and 49 were both confirmed on Feb. 12.

Patient 48

Patient 48 is a 34-year-old male Singaporean who stays at Bukit Batok St 25.

He has no recent travel history to China but was in Malaysia on Jan. 26, 2020.

He reported onset of symptoms on Feb. 1, and had sought treatment at four general practitioner (GP) clinics on Feb. 2, Feb. 4, Feb. 7, Feb. 9 and Feb. 10.

He went to National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) on Feb. 10, and was subsequently confirmed to have Covid-19 infection on Feb. 11 afternoon.

Prior to hospital admission, he had visited Plaza Singapura (68 Orchard Road), Star Vista (1 Vista Exchange Green) and Fusionopolis (1 Fusionopolis Place). He also went to work at Grace Assembly of God (Tanglin) (355 Tanglin Road) and Grace Assembly of God (Bukit Batok) (1 Bukit Batok West Avenue 4).

Patient 49

Patient 49 is 46-year-old Singaporean who stays at Toh Guan Road.

He reported onset of symptoms on Feb. 3, and sought treatment at a GP clinic on Feb. 8. He went to the emergency department at the National University Hospital (NUH) on Feb. 8 and was discharged on the same day.

He was admitted to NUH on Feb. 10 and subsequent test results confirmed he’s infected on Feb. 11 afternoon.

Prior to hospital admission, he had gone to work at Grace Assembly of God (Tanglin) and Grace Assembly of God (Bukit Batok).

Patient 51

Patient 51 is a 48 year-old male Singapore Citizen with no recent travel history to China and stays at Bishan Street 13.

The patient reported onset of symptoms on Feb. 4 and sought treatment at a general practitioner (GP) clinic on Feb. 5 and Feb. 10.

He went to NCID on Feb.11 , and subsequent test results confirmed he was infected with COVID-19 on the afternoon of Feb. 12.

He is currently warded in an isolation room at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID).

Prior to his admission, he went to work at Grace Assembly of God (Tanglin) (355 Tanglin Road) and Grace Assembly of God (Bukit Batok) (1 Bukit Batok West Avenue 4).

Patient 53

Patient 53 is a 54 year-old male Singapore Citizen with no recent travel history to China, works at the National University of Singapore (NUS).

He is currently warded in an isolation room at NCID.

He reported onset of symptoms on Feb. 10, and went to NCID on Feb. 12 where he was immediately isolated. Subsequent test results confirmed COVID-19 infection on the afternoon of Feb. 12.

Prior to hospital admission, he reported that he had mostly stayed at home at Hillview Avenue.

He had also not interacted with colleagues and students after onset of symptoms.

Patients 54 to 58

Not much is known about these four cases.

Patient 54 is a 54 year-old female Singapore Citizen.

Patient 57 is a 26 year-old male Singapore Citizen, and Patient 58 is a 55 year-old male Singapore Citizen.

All three cases did not have recent travel history to China.

MOH has initiated epidemiological investigations and contact tracing to identify individuals who had close contact with the cases.
