Covid-19 outbreak: Grace Assembly of God cluster grows to 21 cases

Three out of the four new cases are linked to the church.

Another four more cases of Covid-19 was confirmed by the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Feb. 18.

Out of these four, three (Cases 78, 80, and 81) are linked to the Grace Assembly of God cluster.

Case 78

Case 78 is a 57-year-old female Singapore Citizen with no recent travel history to China.

She is currently warded in an isolation room at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID). She is linked to the cluster at Grace Assembly of God.

She reported onset of symptoms on Feb. 9 and had sought treatment at two general practitioner (GP) clinics on Feb. 10 and 17.

She was conveyed to NCID on Feb. 17. Subsequent test results confirmed Covid-19 infection on the same day.

Prior to hospital admission, she had gone to work at a VWO-run community hospital. She performs an administrative function at the community hospital, and had not interacted with patients since onset of symptoms. She stays at the Dairy Farm area.

Case 80

Case 80 is a 38-year-old female Singapore Citizen with no recent travel history to China. She was confirmed to have Covid-19 infection on Feb. 18 and is currently warded in an isolation room at the National University Hospital (NUH). She is linked to Case 66.

She works at NUH in an administrative function, and had not interacted with patients since onset of symptoms.

Case 81

Case 81 is a 50-year-old male Singapore Citizen with no recent travel history to China.

He was confirmed to have Covid-19 infection on Feb. 18 and he is currently warded in an isolation room at NCID.

He is linked to the cluster at Grace Assembly of God.

So far, 21 cases are linked to the Grace Assembly of God cluster.

These 21 cases are: Cases 48, 49, 51, 53, 54, 57, 58, 60, 61, 62, 63, 66, 67, 68, 70, 71, 73, 74, 78, 80 and 81.

One of the cases is the church’s Senior Pastor Wilson Teo, who tested positive for the virus on Feb. 11.

The church has also stopped physical services for the time being.

Health Minister Gan Kim Yong said last week (Feb. 14) that there has been no conclusive evidence that a super-spreader is responsible for the cluster.
