Covid-19: More discharged patients in S'pore than new cases for 4 days in a row

The Ministry of Health announced on Feb. 20 that another three Covid-19 patients have been discharged from the hospital.

They are Cases 6, 16 and 66.

In all, 37 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospital.

This also the fourth day in a row where more patients have been discharged than infected.

Over the past four days, we have 18 cases discharged and 10 new cases.

Case 6

Case 6 is a 56-year-old Chinese national from Wuhan who arrived in Singapore on Jan. 19.

He was reported to be have no symptoms during the flight to Singapore. He developed a cough on Jan. 25 and self-presented at Changi General Hospital a day later (Jan.26).

He was staying with his family at their home at Pasir Ris Grove.

Case 16

Case 16 is a 38-year-old male Chinese national who arrived in Singapore from Wuhan on Jan. 22.

He tested positive for Covid-19 on 31 January at about 2pm. He was warded in an isolation room at Singapore General Hospital.

Before his diagnosis, he stayed in his home at Nathan Road.

Case 66

Case 66 is a 28-year-old male Singapore Citizen with no recent travel history to China. He was warded in an isolation room at NCID. He is linked to the cluster at Grace Assembly of God.

He reported onset of symptoms on Jan. 20 and had sought treatment at a GP clinic on Feb. 2, Feb. 5 and Feb. 12. He was referred to NCID on Feb. 12. Subsequent test results confirmed Covid-19 infection on Feb. 14 morning.

Prior to hospital admission, he had gone to work at Grace Assembly of God, and attended church services at God’s Kingdom Bread of Life Church.

Most confirmed cases improving or stable

Of the 48 confirmed cases who are still in hospital, most are stable or improving. Four are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
