Covid-19: Confirmed cases in S'pore hit more than 100, new cluster at Science Park Road grows to 8 cases

Total number of discharged patients now at 72.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced four more confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Singapore as of Feb. 29, 2020.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases here to 102.

Three more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospital today.

In all, 72 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospital.

4 new cases and 3 more discharged

All four new cases are linked to a new cluster at Wizlearn Technologies Pte Ltd, located at 10 Science Park Rd.

Altogether, eight confirmed cases (Cases 93, 95, 97, 98, 99, 100, 101, and 102) are now linked to the cluster.

This makes it the third largest cluster after Grace Assembly of God (23 confirmed cases) and Yong Thai Hang (9 confirmed cases).

Three more cases (Cases 20, 68 and 75) have been discharged from the hospital as well.

 

Of the 30 confirmed cases who are still in hospital, most are stable or improving. Seven are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

Case 99

Case 99 is a 27 year-old male Singapore Citizen who has no recent travel history to China, Daegu and Cheongdo.

He is currently warded in an isolation room at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID).

He reported onset of symptoms on Feb. 21, and sought treatment at a general practitioner (GP) clinic on Feb. 25, and Pioneer Polyclinic on Feb. 28.

The man was identified as a close contact of Case 93, and was referred by MOH to NCID on Feb. 28 and immediately isolated.

Subsequent test results confirmed Covid-19 infection on 28 February afternoon.

Prior to admission, he had mostly stayed at his home at Jurong West Street 81.

Case 100

Case 100 is a 20 year-old male Malaysian national, who has no recent travel history to China, Daegu and Cheongdo.

He is currently warded in an isolation room at NCID. 

He reported onset of symptoms on Feb. 27 and had sought treatment at a GP clinic on Feb. 28.

As he had been identified as a close contact of Case 93, he was referred by MOH to NCID on Feb. 28 and immediately isolated.

Subsequent test results confirmed Covid-19 infection on Feb. 28 afternoon.

Prior to hospital admission, he had mostly stayed at his home at Holland Avenue.

Case 101

Case 101 is a 61 year-old male Singapore Citizen who has no recent travel history to China, Daegu and Cheongdo.

He was confirmed to have Covid-19 infection on Feb. 29 morning and is currently warded in an isolation room at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH).

He is also linked to Case 93.

Case 102

Case 102 is a 41 year-old female Filipino national and Singapore Work Pass holder. She has no recent travel history to China, Daegu and Cheongdo.

She is Case 101’s foreign domestic worker.

She was confirmed to have Covid-19 infection on Feb. 29 morning and is currently warded in an isolation room at NTFGH.
