Covid-19: 2 new confirmed cases in S'pore are linked to new cluster at Science Park Road

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced three more confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Singapore as of Feb. 28, 2020.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases here to 98. The total number of patients discharged is now 69.

2 new cases and 3 more discharged

Both of the cases are linked to a new cluster at Wizlearn Technologies Pte Ltd, located at 10 Science Park Rd.

Four confirmed cases (Cases 93, 95, 97 and 98) are now linked to the cluster.

Three more cases have been discharged from the hospital as well.

Case 97

Case 97 is a 44-year-old female Singapore Permanent Resident who has no recent travel history to China, Daegu and Cheongdo.

She is currently warded in an isolation room at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID), and is linked to Cases 93 and 95.

She reported onset of symptoms on Feb. 20 and had sought treatment at a general practitioner (GP) clinic on the same day.

She was identified as a close contact of Case 93, and was referred by MOH to NCID on Feb. 27 to be isolated.

Subsequent test results confirmed Covid-19 infection on Feb. 27 afternoon.

Prior to hospital admission, she had gone to work at Wizlearn Technologies Pte Ltd and attended a business meeting at the Agency for Integrated Care (5 Maxwell Road).

She stays at Choa Chu Kang North 5.

Case 98 is a 24-year-old male Singapore Permanent Resident who has no recent travel history to China, Daegu and Cheongdo.

He was confirmed to have Covid-19 infection on Feb. 28 morning and is currently warded in an isolation room at NCID.

He is linked to Cases 93, 95 and 97, all of whom work at Wizlearn Technologies Pte Ltd.

The two new cases are also linked to two previous cases, Case 93 and Case 95.

Case 93

Case 93 is a 38-year-old male Singapore Citizen who has no recent travel history to China.

He was confirmed to have Covid-19 infection on Feb. 26 morning and is currently warded in an isolation room at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.

Case 95

Case 95, previously announced on Feb. 27 is a 44-year-old male Singapore Citizen who has no recent travel history to China, Daegu and Cheongdo.

He is currently warded in an isolation room at NCID and is linked to Case 93.

He reported onset of symptoms on 22 February and had sought treatment at two GP clinics on Feb. 25 and Feb. 26.

He was referred to NCID on Feb. 26 and was immediately isolated. Subsequent test results confirmed the infection on Feb. 27 morning.

Prior to hospital admission, he had attended business meetings at Sport Singapore (3 Stadium Drive), Singapore Aviation Academy and Toa Payoh Hub.

He also visited Toa Payoh Sports Centre. He stays at Choa Chu Kang Crescent.
