Five new cases of the novel coronavirus have been confirmed in Singapore, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced on Saturday (Feb. 15).
This brings the number of confirmed cases up to 72.
Some of the new cases linked to established clusters
Of the new cases, three are linked to the cluster at Grace Assembly of God.
One is linked to the cluster at Seletar Aerospace Heights construction site, while the last case is linked to a previously confirmed patient of the coronavirus.
Grace Assembly of God cluster
Patients 68, 70, and 71 are all linked to the cluster at Grace Assembly of God church.
Patient 68 — a 79-year-old Singapore Citizen — and Patient 70 — a 27-year-old Singapore Citizen — are family members of Patient 66.
Patient 71 is a 25-year-old Singapore Citizen who is a contact of Patient 66.
None of them have recent travel history to China.
Two work pass holders
Both Patient 69 and 72 are work pass holders in Singapore.
Patient 69 is a 26-year-old Bangladeshi national with no recent travel history to China.
He is linked to the cluster at Seletar Aerospace Heights.
Patient 72 is a 40-year-old Chinese national who is a non-medical contact of Patient 59. He has no recent travel history to China as well.
One more patient discharged
One more patient has fully recovered and has been discharged from the hospital.
This brings the total number of discharged patients up to 18.
Of the existing 54 infected patients, six are warded in the intensive care unit.
