Driving requires a fair amount of discernment and awareness of one's surroundings.
And for those who drive, it's known that some car parks might be pretty confusing to navigate.
Stuck in entry lane
Two drivers in Sengkang clearly experienced this confusion, when they ended up heading in the wrong direction.
A video of the incident was posted to Facebook group SG Road Vigilante by one Johan Fayd on Feb. 17.
It seems as if the drivers were attempting to enter the car park of Compass One mall, and only realised their mistake upon encountering the exit gantry at the entrance.
From the video, several cars and a van can be seen trying to exit the car park, but are instead blocked by the two cars driving against traffic.
The second car proceeds to reverse upslope for a bit, but then moves forward again, while the first car remains stuck at his position.
You can watch the brief eight-second clip here.
A case of monkey see monkey do?
In his caption, Fayd speculated that the incident was a result of "monkey see monkey do".
Many in the comments section echoed these sentiments, stating the car had likely just followed the vehicle in front.
Others thought that the second car mistakenly believed that both lanes were for entry, and had instead turned into the exit lane.
And some commented that it would probably be pretty hard for the first car to manoeuvre out of the lane.
It is uncertain how the incident was resolved.
Hopefully, both cars managed to make their way to the right gantry safely.
