Healthcare professionals in Wuhan are doing their best to keep the situation under control.

Amidst reports that hospitals in Wuhan are allegedly lacking in resources, as well as a video allegedly showing a doctor in Wuhan breaking down, videos being circulated on Weibo also shows the dedication of the healthcare staff working tirelessly throughout the Chinese New Year period.

Reunion dinner in hospital

A video by China News showed the 'reunion dinner' prepared in Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University.

The meal, consisting of meat, fresh vegetables, tomato egg as well as fruit, were shared with healthcare staff in the hospital.

According to a spokesperson for the hospital's food hall, he said that steps were taken to ensure that the food would not be contaminated. The cutlery, food packaging had to be disinfected.

Personnel delivering the food also had to be suited up and disinfected.

Another hospital, Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University, also saw healthcare professionals having reunion dinner together.

Elsewhere, three healthcare staff who were transferred to Wuhan from another hospital in the Hubei province told Xinhua News that they were too busy, and only ate instant noodles for their dinner on Jan. 24.

However they also reportedly said they do not regret not going home, saying, "our patients need us".

Some staying positive

As of Jan. 25, the total number of confirmed cases in Hubei, where Wuhan is located, has reached 729, and healthcare professionals all over China are working around the clock to cope with the situation.

Despite being away from their families, it appears that some of the medical staff are taking things in their stride.
