Cases of Wuhan virus in China are rising rapidly.

There are at least 6,078 confirmed cases and 132 deaths in China alone.

Singapore has 10 confirmed cases as of this article.

Here's the entire list.

Jan. 23: One case

The first case of the Wuhan virus was confirmed on Jan. 23, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), the man from Wuhan arrived in Singapore with nine others. One of the nine was his son, who will come up in this list again very soon.

The 66-year-old man stayed at Shangri-La’s Rasa Sentosa Resort.

Two days later on Jan. 22, he went to SGH and was isolated immediately after being diagnosed with pneumonia.

Which led to quite the scene when some guests heard the news.

The eight other cases had at that point in time left Singapore. They would soon be isolated at a hotel in Johor Bahru — all eight of them.

Jan. 24: Two cases

On Friday, Jan. 24, Singapore confirmed two more cases of the Wuhan virus. This came a day after the first confirmed case was announced.

One of them was a 37-year-old male Chinese national. The 37-year-old was the son of Singapore’s first confirmed Wuhan case, he is also at Singapore General Hospital (SGH).

The other case was unrelated to the first two individuals, although all three were Wuhan residents.

She was a 53-year-old lady who arrived on Scoot flight TR121 from Wuhan on Jan. 21 with one travelling companion.

She stayed at J8 hotel, and visited the Orchard area, MBS, and Gardens by the Bay.

According to a guest Mothership spoke with, he had not been informed of the hotel's case before he checked in. The manager was not present when we went down in the afternoon.

Jan. 25: One case

On Jan. 26 at around 12:20am, MOH confirmed the fourth case of the novel coronavirus in Singapore.

The fourth confirmed case is a 36-year-old male Chinese national from Wuhan who arrived in Singapore with his family on Jan. 22.

He was warded in an isolation room at Sengkang General Hospital (SKH) and his condition is stable.

The man was asymptomatic during the flight to Singapore but subsequently developed a cough on Jan. 23, 2020.

He was presented at SKH Emergency Department on Jan. 24 and was immediately isolated after being classified as a suspect case.

Subsequent test results confirmed the Wuhan coronavirus infection at about 9:30pm on Jan. 25.

Jan. 27: Three cases

The 56-year-old lady arrived in Singapore with her family on Jan. 18 and was isolated at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID).

MOH said that the Chinese national was asymptomatic during her flight to Singapore, but later developed symptoms on Jan. 24.

She was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) on Jan. 26 and was classified as a suspect case.

The 56-year-old and her family had been staying at Ceylon Road prior to visiting TTSH.

Her onset of symptoms came up on Jan. 24, she remained in her home until she was conveyed to hospital.

She was subsequently isolated in NCID and test results on Jan. 27 at 2pm confirmed that she was the fifth case in Singapore.

MOH confirmed the sixth case of the novel coronavirus infection at 11pm on Jan. 27, 2020.

He is a 56-year-old man who arrived in Singapore on Jan. 19.

He was reported to be have no symptoms during the flight to Singapore. He developed a cough on Jan. 25 and self-presented at Changi General Hospital a day later (Jan.26).

He was staying with his family at their home at Pasir Ris Grove.

The seventh case arrived in Singapore with his family and friends on Jan. 23., and stayed at Marina Bay Sands.

The 35-year-old man subsequently developed symptoms on Jan. 24 and went to the Raffles Hospital.

He was transferred to the NCID by private ambulance on the same day.

He tested positive for the virus at 11pm on Jan. 27, 2020.

January 28: One case

The eight case is a 56-year-old female who lives in Lorong Liew Lian, near Serangoon.

She had arrived from Wuhan on Jan. 19, along with her husband, she had shown no symptoms of the virus upon arrival.

However on Jan. 24, she developed symptoms, and on Jan. 27, took a taxi with her husband to TTSH on Jan. 27, 2020.

Test results on Jan. 28 at about 11pm confirmed the case.

Jan. 29: Two cases

The previous lady's husband was confirmed to have Wuhan virus a day later on Jan. 29, 2020, at about 2pm.

They are both currently warded in isolation rooms at the NCID.

The 10th confirmed case in Singapore is also a Wuhan national, the 56-year-old male who arrived in Singapore from Wuhan on Jan. 20. He too is currently warded in an isolation room at NCID.

Like the other two, he was asymptomatic during his flight to Singapore but developed symptoms the next day. he was eventually identified as a suspect case at a health screening station at Marina South Pier.

Subsequent test results confirmed Wuhan coronavirus infection on Jan. 29 at about 2pm.

Takeaways

The most important takeaway would be that while there are indeed more cases, there still isn't any evidence to suggest any community spread — basically no Singaporeans have been confirmed to have the virus.

One worrying trend, however, appears to be the lack of symptoms shown by a majority of the confirmed cases.

In fact, three of the most recent cases appear to have shown no symptoms on their flight here, which resulted in them evading the temperature checks at the airport.

There will almost definitely be more cases, so take heed, and up your personal hygiene in the coming weeks.
