The posting results for the 2020 Joint Admission Exercise (JAE) will be released next Tuesday (Feb. 4).
Posting results released on Feb. 4
Ministry of Education (MOE) said in a press release that applicants can obtain their results through these channels:
- SMS text message sent to the mobile phone number provided during registration
- JAE Internet System (JAE-IS) via the JAE website
Applicants posted to a Junior College (JC) or Millennia Institute (MI) will have to report to their respective institutions next Wednesday (Feb. 5) at 7:30am.
Meanwhile, those posted to a polytechnic or an Institute of Technical Education (ITE) course will receive further instructions via an enrolment package which will be mailed to them.
Appeal for a transfer
Applicants who wish to appeal for a transfer to another JC should contact the JC of their choice via phone or email.
The JC will then consider the application depending on the available vacancies, and if the applicant meets its course cut-off point for this year’s exercise.
Those who wish to appeal for a transfer to MI should also contact the MI via phone or email.
Here are the contact numbers and email addresses of the JCs and MI:
Applicants who wish to appeal for a transfer to another polytechnic or ITE Higher Nitec course may do so through the JAE Online Appeal Portal.
Students who were not posted to any course during the JAE are encouraged to submit an appeal through the same portal.
They can submit an appeal from 9am on Feb. 4 to 4pm on Feb. 7.
The appeal results will be released on Feb. 20 at 9am.
Students on leave of absence after returning from mainland China
As announced by MOE on Jan. 27, students and staff returning from mainland China will get a 14-day leave of absence (LOA).
This means that applicants who are posted to JCs or MI, and have returned from mainland China on Jan. 22, 2020 or later, should not report to their posted institutions on Feb. 5.
They should instead call or email the JC/MI they are posted to on Feb. 5 to confirm their place in the school.
MOE said that the JCs and MI will provide these students with an LOA and the necessary support for their schooling needs.
"MOE will continue to work closely with schools and institutions to keep them
updated on the necessary follow-up," said the ministry.
