2-year-old girl is youngest confirmed case of Wuhan virus

She's in stable condition.

The numbers coming out of China of those infected by the Wuhan virus grows by the day, with the death toll standing at 41, while the number infected nearing 1,300 as of Jan. 25.

Heartbreakingly, a two-year-old girl has been confirmed to have been infected by the coronavirus.

According to Chinese state media, the two-year-old is a resident from Wuhan, she had flown to Nanning City on January 21, before taking a car to Jinchengjiang District of Hechi City in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

On January 22, she developed a fever and flu. She then went to the hospital, where she was put in isolation .

She is currently in stable condition.

This is the youngest reported case of the Wuhan virus. While most of the victims have been elderly, Shanghaiist reported a case where a 36-year-old man with no pre-existing health conditions died from the virus.

The man had been hospitalised on January 3 with a fever, and had succumbed to the virus on January 23, 2020.
