Dog dies after it was allegedly thrown out of car window at Lorong Halus, AVS investigating

A car dashboard camera in Singapore recently captured footage of a dog allegedly being thrown out of a car.

The footage was recently shared by Veron Ng, which was from her friend’s car.

At around the six-second mark of the footage, a small animal could be seen on the road as a car appeared to run over it.

Ng claimed that a dog was "thrown" out of the car, causing its death.

The incident took place along Pasir Ris Industrial Drive at around 8pm on Dec. 15, according to the video timestamp.

According to the Road Traffic Act, it is illegal to not stop and help an animal after an accident. Failure to do so could result in a S$3,000 fine or a jail term of up to a year.

First-time offenders who abuse an animal may also be fined up to $15,000, jailed up to 18 months, or both, under the Animals and Birds Act.

AVS investigating

Responding to queries by Mothership, Group Director of the Animal & Veterinary Services (AVS), Jessica Kwok, said that they are investigating the case.

Kwok said they are in contact with the feedback provider to get more information.

Information shared with AVS will be kept strictly confidential.

Members of the public can also play a part by promptly reporting suspected cases of animal cruelty to AVS via their website.
