The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to the Animals (SPCA), as a non-profit organisation in Singapore that takes in abandoned pets or strays, needs your help this festive season.
SPCA urge Singaporeans to donate to its clinic
On Sunday, Dec. 15, SPCA took to Facebook to urge members of the public to make donations to its animal clinic.
SPCA explained that during holiday seasons, some pets are abandoned, possibly due to impulse purchases.
As a result, SPCA has created a Christmas wish list to appeal to Singaporeans to help make some donations.
Needs S$600,000 every year
The shelter takes in up to 200 abandoned pets and animals living on the streets every month, on top of those that they rescue.
SPCA wrote on their Facebook post:
"This Christmas, help over 200 needy animals a month by funding their clinic and shelter supplies.
SPCA’s Community Animal Clinic requires ~$600,000 per year to operate and our team sees over 20 animals daily.
We are not government-funded and rely on public donations that are eligible for 250% tax deduction."
