According to the latest weather forecast for Singapore, the sweater weather is here to stay past the Christmas period.

Rainy weather last till start of 2020

On Dec. 16, the Meteorological Service Singapore updated that the wet phase of the Northeast Monsoon season is likely to prevail in the rest of December 2019 and January 2020.

Low-level winds are expected to blow from northwest or northeast.

Strong daytime heating of lands coupled with localised convergence of winds are conducive conditions to form thunderstorm clouds and might result in moderate to heavy thundery showers in the afternoon on some days.

These showers may extend to the evening time too.

If you are heading out for Christmas celebration, do bring along a brolly as showers are expected during those days.

For the rest of December, the daily temperatures are forecast to range between 24°C and 33°C on most days, and could drop to 23°C on a few days.

Rainfall is expected to be well above average, the forecast added.
