Joseph Schooling came in a close second to Singaporean teammate Teong Tzen Wei at the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games 50m butterfly event, who pipped Schooling by 0.06 seconds.
The two swimmers secured gold and silver at the event for Team Singapore.
Schooling disappointed with results, but happy for Teong
Shortly after the race ended, the swimmer told reporters that he was "honestly disappointed by it", but congratulated the newly-crowned winner of the 50m butterfly event.
"I'd rather have him be ahead of me than anyone else," Schooling said.

Teong called Schooling 'best sportsman in S'pore'
When Mediacorp reporters spoke to Teong, the swimmer looked rather overwhelmed and was still panting hard.
He called Schooling a "real brother", and added:
"I've just got this one, and he's got many ahead of me."
Teong also said that it was "great swimming with Singapore's best sportsman", and that he was simply happy that Singapore managed to clinch both first and second place at the event.
