Travellers planning to pass through the Woodlands checkpoint on the night of Wednesday, Dec. 18 might want to reconsider their plans.

The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) announced on Dec. 17 that the Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (BSI) and Johor Bahru (JB) Sentral will be conducting an emergency exercise at the BSI CIQ Complex and JB Sentral Bus Terminal.

This will take place between 10pm on Wednesday, Dec. 18 and 12am on Thursday, Dec. 19.

ICA has advised that those travelling between Malaysia and Singapore via land during that period consider using the Tuas checkpoint rather than the Woodlands one.

A similar exercise was conducted one year ago, on Dec. 13, 2018.
