Taiwanese-Canadian star Godfrey Gao passed away recently after collapsing during the shoot of Chinese reality show Chase Me in late November 2019.

The show was permanently cancelled after the programme team faced tremendous public backlash for not prioritising safety enough.

Tributes poured in for Gao have shown that he was well-loved by many, making it difficult for friends and fans to accept this devastating news.

Despite the pain of losing Gao, Gao's family has urged those who love him to spread positive thoughts so that Gao can rest in peace.

Gao's friends celebrate early Christmas with his father

During this period, Gao's friends have been caring for Gao's elderly parents.

Most recently, some of Gao's friends were spotted spending an early Christmas gathering with Gao's father.

Some of them include celebrities who were close to Gao such as Christine Fan, Blackie Chen, Wang Leehom and Will Pan.

Fan posted on her Instagram on Dec. 11 photos of the gathering as the group sat around in a cosy room.

Fan wrote that they spent the night singing songs and chatting, and it was a night filled with good vibes.

One of the songs they sang was 'Hey Jude' by The Beatles and Gao's father also played the guitar at the gathering.

The group also made a G-shape Christmas wreath in memory of Gao.

Fan wrote that Gao probably wishes everyone, especially his loved ones, to be happy every day and only with that, Gao can go in peace to the happiest and most carefree place.

Gao's funeral will be held on Dec. 15, 2019.
