Having a huge family gathering, but craving hot pot? China's got you covered.

On Nov. 6, the world's largest hotpot, which secured a Guinness World Record, was unveiled in Chongqing, China, during the second China International Import Expo (CIIE).

The hotpot itself boasts a diameter of 10 metres, more than 1 metre high, and weighs 13 tonnes, according to Xinhuanet.

The giant hot pot was made by the famous Chongqing Dezhuang Hot Pot Restaurant.

The pot is divided into two different flavours, and would require 2,000kg of seasoning, 200kg of pepper and 500kg of chilli, according to The Shanghaiist.

It comprises 56 small tripod pots, allowing it to serve 56 people at the same time.

The number of small pots is reportedly meant to symbolise the unity and harmony of the 56 different ethnic groups in China, with calligraphy and paintings engraved on the side of the main pot to show China's history.

The pot took five days to assemble, and was delivered from Shanghai in eight separate pieces.

Although Chongqing hot pot generally uses local ingredients, a variety of international ingredients, such as beef tripe from New Zealand, Indian chilli, Canadian seafood, German beef lard and beef from Australia and Brazil were imported to make this special hot pot.
