A video of a man crying on the roadside in Thailand went viral after it was shared on Facebook on Nov. 9, 2019.

However, what appeared to be a depressing situation turned out to be rather heartwarming.

Teen was allegedly caught speeding

Ejun, a Thai news website, contacted the policeman, Police Lance Corporal Kanokpan Puttapong in the video on Facebook through his post.

"Happy birthday bro, do you have the police buying you a birthday cake?"

The policeman said to Ejun that he had decided to arrest the boy, but when the boy started crying, the officer asked him what the problem was.

The boy then opened up to him, and told the officer that it was actually his birthday, but nobody in his family seemed to care about it.

Feeling neglected, the boy said that he left his brother's condominium in anger, the officer recounted.

Bought him a slice of cake, with lit candles

Puttapong then told the boy to calm down before returning home, and dropped by the closest 7-Eleven convenience store to buy him a slice of cake.

Even remembered to put on some candles. Aww.

According to Ejun, the boy was let off with a warning instead of being arrested, after Puttapong helped the boy celebrate his birthday.
