Personal mobility devices are banned from footpaths in Singapore with immediate effect starting on Nov. 5, 2019 -- and this has resulted in at least one sad scene.

A woman was seen pushing her device along the footpath -- the recommended method of commuting with these devices on footpaths -- and she was visibly limping.

The video was put up on Facebook by Helloあsia Singapore.

But should she?

However, this scene could be the result of some confusion -- given how the ban was carried out overnight and with punitive measures devised to keep users in check.

If the woman's ride is a personal mobility aid (PMA), it is still allowed to be used on the footpaths.

Adapt. Improvise. Overcome.

People in Singapore have been finding ways to circumvent the ban.

One method includes riding on grass, which is neither footpath nor road.
