An accident at a construction site in Novena on Nov. 4 left one person dead and another injured.
According to an update by Tan Tock Seng Hospital, the injured man is currently in a stable condition.
As for the man who died, Muthaiyan Velmurugan, background information about him was provided by It’s Raining Raincoats (IRR), a local ground-up initiative.The 28-year-old had been working in Singapore for five-and-a-half years.He had been married for one-and-a-half years, and the couple was expecting their first child.
According to The Straits Times (ST), he had recently returned to India for six months to get married.
ST also reported that the man had been so delighted to hear of the pregnancy that he had made plans to return to India soon.
According to IRR, the man's body is being "flown back to India" with his cousin, who is also a migrant worker in Singapore.
IRR has also set up a fundraising drive, with the money raised being sent to Velmurugan's family back in India.

Currently, S$70,000 has been raised so far.
IRR has set a target of S$100,000 for the fundraiser.
Dipa Swaminathan, founder of IRR, told ST that the funds will be entrusted to Velmurugan's cousin.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Health, they are also "working with the main contractor Kajima Overseas Asia (Singapore) Pte Ltd to render assistance to the deceased worker’s family, as well as to the injured worker".
