The baby, named Ismail Leon, had his face previously obscured in pictures.

Could be the son of "any Asian man"

The release of the baby's photos could be to confirm the baby's paternity, owing to the family resemblance with Muhammad V.

The monarch, however, has hit back at such claims.

A palace source told Daily Mail that he believes Ismail Leon could be "the son of any Asian man", and that Muhammad V "does not feel (the baby) looks like him".

Oksana insists son is fathered by the Sultan

Meanwhile, the 27-year-old Oksana has insisted the baby is his, saying the baby was conceived while the couple were on honeymoon in Australia following their secret Islamic ceremony in Kelantan in June 2018.

She has started court proceedings to declare the Sultan the baby's father, and hasĀ also offered a DNA test to prove the baby's paternity.

Ismail Leon "looks every bit like his father", she said.

Shortly after the baby was born on May 21, 2019, the Sultan divorced Oksana in June 2019 using theĀ triple talaq method -- the harshest andĀ irreversible type of IslamicĀ procedure.

Sultan wants to have children with another woman he loves

Daily Mail further reported, citing another palace source, that Oksana is "an ex-wife who was never acknowledged by the palace".

The 50-year-old Muhammad V now "wants to focus on working hard and helping people in his state to continue his father's legacy and creating his own happy family", the source continued.

He intends to "have an heir and children with the woman he loves", the report said.

It is not known if he is in a new relationship since his divorce.

The Kelantan palace has previously issued a rare statement to counter social media posts written by Oksana, saying that the Kelantan ruler "expresses his regret over the personal choices made in his private life that has caused confusion among Malaysians".

Sultan deeply regrets marrying Oksana

Muhammad V also has some harsh words for Oksana, whom he said was "cruel and vindictive".

He said marrying her was "the biggest mistake" of his life.

In addition, he disputed her claims that they had planned the child, and that he cried with happiness when he found out she was pregnant, saying the claims were "absolute nonsense".

Sultan expresses dissatisfaction with Oksana

He further revealed his displeasure with his ex-wife, saying she has "no dignity" after footage from six years ago emerged of her "having sex in the swimming pool on a TV reality show for the whole world to see", Daily Mail cited a royal insider as saying.

Muhammad V also expressed his discontent at being forced to attend a Moscow "showbiz event while he was sick on medical leave and not feeling well", referring to the wedding reception in Moscow held belatedly in November 2018.

Oksana, who was already pregnant at that time, said the Moscow reception was the Sultan's gift to her.

The claim was also disputed by Muhammad V, who reportedly said he had agreed to attend the reception as she was "bugging him" about having one in Russia.

Pictures and footage from the wedding were then "released to the press", publicly revealing their marriage even though the Sultan had wanted their relationship to remain a secret.

The Kelantan ruler had abdicated the Malaysian throne in January this year for reasons that remain unknown.

This was despite his term being up only in 2021.

He is the only Malaysian king to have done so.

Palace sources had rejected claims that it was due to his marriage to Oksana becoming publicly known in the conservative country.
