Lin's first cafe opened in Taipei in early 2018.
There are also two other existing SMUDGE stores in Taiwan.
Fans queue overnight
According to Chinese media, there were fans who had queued up for six hours just to enter the store, and another two hours for a cup of coffee.
A few avid fans of Lin even queued up overnight at the store for some 14 hours before its official opening time.
A journalist who went to the store 10 minutes before it opened had also stated that the queue was so long it reached the back alley.
Despite the long queues, members of the public were only allowed into the cafe five customers at a time.
Scalpers resell items at higher prices
The two-storey shop, which stocks merchandise like mugs, tumblers and clothes was apparently close to selling out after opening day.
According to Chinese media, each customer was limited to purchasing two boxes of coffee beans each at around S$23.30 per box.
There were also scalpers who resold the apparel and coffee at higher prices - an additional S$10 for a cup of coffee (U.P. S$4 - S$8) and an additional S$20 for clothing - Zaobao reports.
Wow.
