The Singapore Army has released a short video showing how it took care of the 50kg unexploded World War II bomb relic at Jiak Kim Street.

The video showed the bomb being set off in a controlled detonation under heaps of sandbags placed within concrete walls to contain shrapnel and shock waves emanating from the blast.

The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team carried out the bomb disposal on Nov. 18.

Here is another video shot by a member of the public showing another view of the explosion:

It is unclear how this second video was shot considering that the public was made to evacuate and vacate the surrounding condominiums and hotel near Jiak Kim Street for more than 10 hours.

The bomb was successfully disposed of before 5pm.
