Grab has some good news for travellers to Japan and the Middle East.
From Nov. 19, 2019, all Grab users in Singapore and the Philippines will be able to use their Grab app to book rides in 5 Japanese cities and 94 cities across 13 Middle Eastern countries.
Users from Malaysia and other Southeast Asian countries will be able to do so later in 2020.
Users can earn GrabRewards points for bookings overseas
Grab users will be able to book a ride and pay for them with GrabPay Credits, and will also be able to earn GrabRewards points.
Grab also clarified that the Grab app will remain in your native or preferred language, and that GrabChat conversations will be "instantly translated."
Grab rides will be fulfilled through JapanTaxi in Japan, and Careem in the Middle East.
In the unlikely event of an emergency, users will be able to access local emergency services through the Grab app.
