Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officers recently conducted a four-day island-wide operation from Nov. 4 to Nov. 8, according to a media release.

Three young children with her

CNB arrested a female Singaporean, who was a suspected drug trafficker, during a raid on Nov. 4.

The woman was arrested in the vicinity of Jurong West Street 91, and two small packets of "Ice" (methamphetamine) were recovered.

It is suspected that the drugs belonged to her.

At the time of arrest, the 47-year-old had three young children with her, aged one, six and five.

CNB stated the woman was helping to babysit the one-year-old girl, who was subsequently handed over to the biological mother.

The other two children were the suspect's biological grandchildren.

They have since been referred to the Ministry of Social and Family Development’s Child Protective Service.

CNB tried to contact the children's biological mother multiple times, but were unsuccessful.

Apart from this raid at Jurong, some of the other areas covered included Ang Mo Kio, Bukit Batok, Bukit Panjang, Jurong, Pasir Ris, Senja, Tiong Bahru, Woodlands and Yishun.

The operation was supported by the Singapore Police Force.

Investigations into the drug activities of all the arrested persons are ongoing.
