Don Don Donki's outlet in the west will open on Nov. 29, 2019.
Sushi bar, teppanyaki station
This will be the chain's seventh store in Singapore, if you count the sweet potato factory spin-off in Changi Airport.
8 Days previously reported that the bargain emporium will take over the space formerly occupied by Kopitiam and FairPrice Finest in the mall’s basement 1.
The new outlet will have a sushi bar and live teppanyaki outlet.
This is Donki's first in-store sushi bar in Singapore.
Upon query, a spokesperson for Donki revealed that the bar will serve a variety of sushi and sashimi, as well as beer.
However, the menu is still being finalised.
On the other hand, Donki's outlet at Clarke Quay already has a Teppanyaki station, which looks like this:
We're not sure if JCube's station will be similar though.
Japanese food court
There will also be a 360-seater food court with eight stalls, four of which are new names:
- Hotto Motto (Set Meals)
- Gindaco (Takoyaki)
- Arizuki Express (Hotpot)
- Tsukiji Unagi Daioh (Unagi)
Hotto Motto appears to be pretty ubiquitous in Japan, being available in 42 out of 47 prefectures.
The store sells plenty of bento options, such as karaage chicken, pork and chicken katsu, teriyaki salmon, and more.
Also, Gindaco isn't exactly new to the market, as they were previously available at ION and Raffles Place's basements, but closed down subsequently.
