Cyclist, 64, dies after being hit by Mercedes-Benz at Tampines, driver, 47, arrested

A fatal accident occurred along Tampines Ave 3 on Nov. 21, 2019.

Cyclist succumbed to his injuries

A collision occurred between a cyclist and a Mercedes-Benz, outside Blk 831 Tampines Ave 3 before Tampines Street 82.

Photos circulating online show the black Mercedes in the middle of the road, with a broken umbrella in front of it.

A large pool of blood was allegedly seen near the car as well, Stomp reported.

Another photo showed the 64-year-old cyclist lying on his side near the vehicle, with someone who is presumably the driver standing on the road.

Other photos showed police at the scene, speaking with, presumably, the driver of the Mercedes.

Singapore police informed Mothership that they were first alerted to the incident at around 8:13am.

The cyclist was conveyed to Changi General Hospital unconscious. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital.

The driver, a 47-year-old man, has been arrested in relation to the case, and police investigations are ongoing.
