Man, 27, allegedly slammed 9-month-old baby against van floor at Yishun car park

The baby died from the injuries.

A renovation contractor was charged for allegedly causing the death of a nine-month-old boy in Yishun, according to the Chinese daily Shin Min Daily News.

Mohamed Aliff Bin Mohamed Yusoff, 27, was accused of causing serious injuries to nine-month-old Izz Fayyaz Bin Ahmad during the night of Nov. 7, between 10pm and 12:15am.

The mother of the baby is supposedly the suspect's girlfriend.

From the Facebook posts of one of the deceased's family members, the boy is believed to have passed away last Friday, but the family was only able to collect and bury the body on Nov. 10.

 

The suspect was said to have deliberately slammed the boy's head against the floor of a goods vehicle at Block 840A multistorey car park at Yishun Street 81.

The suspect has been remanded since he was charged on Nov. 9 under Section 325 of the Penal code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt on the boy.

If convicted, the suspect may face a jail term of up to 10 years, a fine or caning.

The suspect will return to court on Nov. 15, 2019.
