Bridge collapsed when tourists stood on it
The bridge is about 30m high and 70m long.
It collapsed suddenly after tourists stood on the bridge to take photos.
The Head of Public Relations of the Riau Islands Regional Police, Colonel S. Erlangga said that there were about 60 people on the bridge when it gave way.
It is believed that the wooden foundations of the bridge had decayed, causing it to be unable to withstand the load.
