HDB has announced new flats for their November 2019 Build-To-Order (BTO) and Sale of Balance Flats (SBF) exercises.

There are 4,571 BTO units and 3,599 SBF units available, adding up to 8,170 in total.

They will be available in the following estates:

• Tengah, specifically Plantation Village, Plantation Grange and Garden Vines @ Tengah.
• Ang Mo Kio.
• Tampines.

There are different types of flats available, such as Three-Generation and 2-Room Flexi flats, to suit different customers.

HDB also touted the affordability of the flats:

"New HDB flats are priced with a generous subsidy, taking into account factors such as location, flat attributes and prevailing market conditions."

Eligible first-timer families may receive an Enhanced CPF Housing Grant of up to S$80,000 which could result in paying the following prices (check the right-most column):

HDB added, "HDB’s prices are considerably lower than the transacted prices of comparable resale flats in the vicinity."

SBF flats also come in various types, including:

• 2-room Flexi.
• 3-room.
• Three-Generation.
• Executive.

How to apply

Those interested are invited to apply online at HDB InfoWeb from Nov. 12 to Nov. 18.

Applicants can only apply for one flat type/category in one town under either the BTO or SBF exercise.

Applicants will be shortlisted according to a computer ballot, not on a first-come-first-served basis.

HDB also advises those who can to apply for their HDB Loan Eligibility letter early on, so they can choose a flat within their budget.

BTO flats in non-mature estates will be easier to get than SBFs in mature estates.

Upcoming BTO exercises

If you don't manage to get a flat this time round, no worries, you can try again soon.

HDB announced that it will offer 3,000 BTO flats in Sembawang and Toa Payoh in February 2020.

Then in May 2020, it will offer about 3,700 BTO flats in Choa Chu Kang, Pasir Ris,  Tampines and Tengah, with the Choa Chu Kang flats boasting the shorter waiting time.
